An order and delivery management system
A fruit and vegetable distributor in the New York area needed to move away from an operation heavily dependent on the owner and paper documents.

The starting point
Orders and preparation required significant involvement from the owner. Growth meant making the operation something others could take over.

My role
I designed a system connecting order intake, invoicing and delivery around Airtable.

The system
A B2B form is sent by text message. Shopify orders also flow into Airtable. Approved orders feed into QuickBooks and TrackPod. A summary of quantities is generated for the order preparation team.

The outcome
Truck preparation at 4 a.m. could be delegated. The system holds the information needed to carry out the work.
